Villa Mahatma House

The Villa
Mahatma House is a two storey, five bedroom villa characterised by expansive open air tropical living spaces, chick and zen interiors, and spectacular sea views.The contemporary architectural style is a study in perfect symmetry, presenting an abundance of space and a soaring Iron wood shingle roof. The atmospheric interior design is imbued with Asian mystique and contemporary ambience, characterised by dark polished cement walls, charcoal-grey polished cement floors, black custom-designed furnishings and a pair of wrought iron encased stairwells inspired on Chinese cages.This luxurious property is ideal for weddings and events. It was completed in 2009 and has an interconnecting garden door to its sister Villa Matahari, which presents a contrasting décor and theme next door. Both villas can therefore be rented together, presenting accommodation for up to 18 people.

Accommodation
There are five air-conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms in Mahatma House. The two Master Bedrooms are located in the second floor with beds oriented towards the beach. Spectacular views can beseen during sunrise and sunset.
Both master bedrooms offer audio visual facilities with: LCD TV, DVD player, IPod speakers, internal telephone and safety boxes.There are two Garden Suites, housed in a standalone single storey pavilion on the far side of the swimming pool, and an additional Corner Suite on the ground floor of the main building oriented to sunset. Each of these suites have internal telephone and safety boxes.Four of the suites offer private sitting areas, where the guests can relax or have their private meals.

Master Suites
The Master Suites are stylish, minimalist and extremely spacious, each is flanked by a private, open air, roof terrace furnished with a double lounger. The Master Suites feature windows on three sides overlooking the garden, the beach, and a Balinese temple. The black, king size bed in each room is flanked by black side tables, and oriented towards the sea, with breathtaking views. There is also a chinese longue in the dressing area in front of the closets which are completely covered with mirrors to reflect the landscape views.The expansive ensuite bathrooms are each fitted with a luxurious black bathtub beside a wide window. There is a toilet on one side and a walk in rainshower on the other side. Despite the abundance of windows, guests’ privacy is cleverly protected by the one-way mirror glasses. A wide terrazzo vanity unitsupports twin washbasins, and huge wall mirrors multiply the space. Fitted wardrobes provide plenty of hanging and storage space.

Garden Suites
The garden suites are each furnished with a built in king size bed, and each bedroom incorporates a sunken bathtub fashioned in black polished concrete, as well as a double washbasin. The toilet and the walk in rainshower are each located in separate private spaces behind doors. The garden suites open onto timber decks in private back gardens, as well as onto a private chillout area overlooking the pool.

Corner Suite
The fifth bedroom is accessed from the side garden. It is furnished with a built-in terrazzo bed, a desk, a stool and a chaise longue. A sliding door leads into the ensuite bathroom fitted with a walk-in rainshower, a single washbasin and a toilet. This is the smallest suite but with a lot of charm due to the ocean and sunset views.

Entrance, Living & Dinning Room
There are two entrances to the House. The pedestrian entrance is done through a classical Balinese three step portico framed by an antique wooden carved door, leading to the House entrance hall with an impressive stone worked waterfall sided by two ponds with goldenfish inside. Both sides of the Entrance Hall lead to the open air living
& dining area which takes up most of the ground floor, of the main building, incorporating a TV lounge, accessed by wide stepping stones over another ornamental pond and furnished with a large sofa, an armchair, and a cabinet of Buddha statues with a 50” LCD TV, a DVD player and a top quality 5:1 Home Cinema sound system.

The living area itself is the central focus. Aligned with the swimming pool and overlooking the garden, it is cooled by two large ceiling fans with woven rattan blades, and furnished with rattan lazy chairs, circular ottomans and a substantial daybed scattered with silk cushions. A fat, smiling Buddha sits in one corner, a pile of gongs rests in another corner, and an antique timber wall panel adds a splash of jade green behind the daybed.

The dining area is accessed by another set of stepping stones over a pond and is furnished with a table for ten, complemented by two different styles of dining chairs, arranged alternately with capacity for 12 people.There is also a guest toilet on the ground floor.

The fully equipped, open plan, feature kitchen is located beside the dining area for ease of service. The funky decoration displays the green lids of old, Indonesian ‘krupuk’ (rice cracker) jars. The kitchen contains all of the facilities that Mahatma House chef requires for the preparation of delicious meals, innovative buffets, and party snacks.

Spa Services & Office
Mahatma House offers internal spa services, including: facials, body treatment, various types of massage, pedicure, manicure, etc.provided by professional therapists on request at an extra charge.

Garden & Pool
The 18 m. x 6.40 m. swimming pool is a stunning feature which completes the symmetry of the property consisting of a four side water overflow with external walls and pathways covered with Andesite Flame stone and lightened underwater by 102 led lamps.The pool deck is furnished with umbrellas and sunloungers made from Sunbrella and all-weather rattan. The large garden with its flat lawn is ideal for weddings, parties and celebrations. A central chillout area at the end of the swimming pool is opened to the sky; it presides over the pool and offers an additional sitting area. Behind this is an impressive vertical rock garden with a water cascade and in its centre there is a fire pyre which is lightened every night to complete this magical environment.

Surroundings
The location offers direct access to the beach and easy access up to the mountains and rice terraces on the western slopes of the island; it is 40 minutes drive from the famous cultural and artistic town of Ubud, just 20 minutes drive from Seminyak and the Sunset Road, gateway to the eastern side of the island. It is only 5 minutes away
from Tanah Lot, one of the main temples of Bali. It is also convenient for all of Bali’s shopping malls and main tourist attractions. The international airport is 50 minutes’ drive, depending on the traffic. The nearby ‘Nirwana Bali Golf Course’ designed by Greg Norman, and voted the number 1 golf course in Asia it is situated beside the dramatic waved-lashed sea temple of Tanah Lot. For horse lovers, the ‘Umalas Equestrian Centre’ is just a few kilometres away.Echo Beach at Canggu, which is bordered by a surfing reef and noted for a casual and lively beach-side dining scene, is a pleasant onekilometre walk along the seashore. This is the place where the local community gathers in the evenings to watch the legendary sunsets. A variety of eating areas and tables spill out onto a beachside buff; there is a daily barbeque and live music on Sunday evenings.

Mahatma House Staff

1 Manager
He will be your main contact for any doubt, advice, or problem may occur during your stay in the House.
1 Assistant Manager
He is in charge of the accounting and assistance to the manager.
1 House Manager & Butler
Oversees and coordinates the staff work and will be available to assist during your stay, organizing your excursions, the drivers, pickups and transfers to airport, etc.
1 Chef
Exquisitely trained in the preparation of both Indonesian and international cuisine, our chef will provide an extensive Menu for your tasting and will do all the necessary market shopping.
3 House keepers
They will be responsible for housekeeping duties, taking care of your daily laundry and providing waiter service.
1 Head Security Officer
He will organize the security of the guests and the house with the other security guards, to patrol the grounds and guard the entrance of the villa from dusk to dawn.
2 Security Guards
They will assist the Head Security Officer and will help you during the night when the rest of the staff is resting.
1 Engineer
He will be responsible for the house facilities technical maintenance.
2 Gardeners & Pool Attendants
Responsible of tending the pool, garden, and the grounds of the villa.

Rates include salaries of all household staff, cost of electricity, water, cleaning & gardening supplies, local taxes and so on.
The house is fully equipped with linen, crockery, utensils, drinking water, initial supply op soap, toiletries and amenities.

STAFF OVERTIME WORK
A Service Charge per hour and per staff member could be charged for any overtime working hours requested from the guests. Please contact the House Manager for the staff schedule and for further information.

CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT
Check In time is 14:00 hours. Check Out time is 12:00 hours.
Late check out until 18:00 is charged 50% from the published rate and after 18:00 consider a full night charge applied.
Early Check In and late Check Out are subject to space availability and prior notification is requested

CANCELLATIONS
When a cancellation occurs, the CANCELATION FEE will be equal to the DEPOSIT.

BOOKING CHANGES
A 50 USD ADMINISTRATION FEE will be charged for any change of booking after a reservation has been confirmed. Acceptance of any change is subject to approval.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
Rates quoted allow for a maximum occupancy of 10 guests.
The number of guests staying in Mahatma House cannot exceed the maximum number of guests mentioned and or agreed in the BOOKING CONFIRMATION.
On request we can provide 3 baby cradles.
Mahatma House reserves the right to refuse any bookings if not suitable for accommodation.


Mahatma House doesn´t ask for any SERVICE CHARGE during the
stay, but tips to the staff will be highly appreciated at the end of the
stay.
