Villa Kirana is a brand new and arguably one of the most beautiful, fully-appointed five bedroom private rental villas in Bali. It overlooks the Ayung river gorge with breathtaking views of Bali’s major volcano range and distant rice field terraces.

As quoted by the architect Made Wijaya, “The design was inspired by Arne Hasselquist’s “David Bowie House” in Mustique, on which I had worked with Linda Garland. It is a water garden with pavilions on a view. I added elements of the Malay house, the Balinese Balé and the Baronial guesthouses of the hill stations in Dutch colonial times. The house is very open, very transparent-the garden and scenic views are a treat as one moves around the detached palace.

The villa owners were very supportive of the idea of different atmospheres in each of the bedrooms, interspersed with tranquil and airy public areas. Morocco Berber rugs and lamps were imported to add color, and soften the predominantly stone and timber architecture.

Local sculptor Pintor Sirait worked on the suspended staircase and porte-cochere and Ubud-born artist Wayan Cemul carved all the bases of the stilt houses near the swimming pool. The compound houses an interesting collection of Indonesian ethnic art – both built in, as doors and windows, or as artwork accents-from Sumba, Nias, Kalimantan and North Sumatra, and a wide range of quality ikat textiles used in the soft furnishings.”

The bedroom is equiped with a luxury four poster king size bed, bedside bench, working desk and TV. You can open sliding window located in front of an oval bathtub in the bathroom to enjoy bathing with a view and feeling the fresh ocean breeze. The master bedroom is situated upstairs right on the media room and kitchen building. The master bedroom is completed with and air condition, a king sized bed, en suite bathroom with indoor shower, sinks and marble bathtub as well as stylish built-in cupboard. The elegance is apparently added through its private deck / balcony completed with sun lounger and bean bag pillow and an unobstructed ocean view in a close distance. The wall is dominated by white color and glass doors, grey color curtains, and thus sunlight could easily beat a path to the room every morning you started to open your eyes but it keeps its coolness through the ceiling fan.

Guest Bedroom 1

Aside with the master bedroom, the guest bedroom 1 and the guest bedroom 2 is available. Both guest bedrooms are identical and located in a separated building from the master bedroom. Completed with an air conditioner, the guest bedroom 1 offers an en suite bathroom with indoor shower and sinks as well as stylish built-in cupboard. Equipped with modern furniture made of teak wood materials, the dining area is giving the sense of natural area during the eating activity. To make an ease before enjoying meals, right next to the dining area, a kitchen is offered. Our in-house maid is available to assist the house chores like cooking and more. For another gratifying option, guests can shop some groceries and our in-house maid will prepare the meals. Guests will only need to pay some extra dollars for grocery shopping bills and other additional services of 20%. BBQ party will be accommodated too.

The ‘L’ swimming pool is offered in the front part of the building. With a unique ‘L’ shape, the swimming pool is ready to guide you heading to a new experience of swimming in the tropical Bali. There are 4 sun loungers at the poolside, enabling guests to sit relax while swimming. Entrance
Guests will enter the villa through a large watergarden comprised of four fishponds complete with bubbling fountains. This delightful courtyard area is planted with yellow irises, torch ginger, and a pair of ancient frangipani trees, while the walls are decorated with hand-carved Palimanan stone friezes depicting ocean and river themes. There is a secure car park and garage at the entrance.

Living and Dining Pavilion
Approaching the large living and dining pavilion, the ocean is immediately visible through the glass walls, which form three sides of this stand-alone building. A statue of Ganesha rests on one side of the glass entrance doors beside a sparkling wall of water cascading down to a lower level. The rectangular-shaped pavilion features a marble floor and a soaring roof lined with rattan. The sliding glass doors can be opened to allow the sea breezes and the rhythmic sounds of the waves to penetrate, and the room can also be cooled by ceiling fans. A circular dining table for eight is positioned at one end. The other side of the pavilion is furnished with two sofas, lazy chairs, an ottoman, a coffee table, handcrafted lamps and local artefacts. A small kitchen is positioned next to the dining area and a fully equipped service kitchen is located in the staff service area. Guests also have the option of dining alfresco on the elevated terrace in front of the pavilion, which overlooks the garden and the pool and the ocean, and is furnished with an outdoor dining table and chairs. A guest washroom is situated immediately outside the living and dining pavilion.

Games Room
A stone staircase leads from the living pavilion down to the air-conditioned games room, complete with an arched wooden ceiling and an adjoining, open-air, walled courtyard. The games room is equipped with a pool table, a dart board, a wood-panelled bar with six bar chairs, a luxurious leather sofa, and a 40″ LCD screen satellite TV, ideal for watching sports. The courtyard is open to the sky, bordered by a water cascade, and furnished with a synthetic rattan bar table and high chairs, together with a coffee table and chairs.

Master Suite
The 2-storey master suite comprises the ground floor master bedroom and en-suite bathroom, and an upstairs study together with a DVD room.

Next door is an air-conditioned study with windows on three sides that can be folded open to the breeze, offering an eye-boggling 270-degree view of the river estuary, the mountains, the beach, the ocean and the neighbouring islands. Featuring dark purple walls, the study is furnished with a desk, chair, large sofa and shelf unit. WiFi Internet access is available throughout the villa.

Guest Bedrooms
The main guest bedroom is on the ground floor under a soaring roof, with sliding glass doors on two sides. Characterised by an olive green theme, it is similar to the master bedroom, furnished with a king-size bed and equipped with air-conditioning, a built-in daybed, an LCD satellite TV and DVD/CD player. Pushpapuri is supported by the exemplary service of a carefully selected team of highly trained, friendly staff who will do everything within their power to ensure that guests at the villa enjoy a truly luxurious and relaxing experience. The team is headed by a villa manager who will oversee and coordinate the staff and property, and is available to assist guests during their stay. There is also a cook, trained in the preparation of both Asian and Western cuisine, and personal butlers who are on hand to pamper and look after every guest need. Additionally, the team includes housekeepers, a gardener and pool attendant, and security guards operating on a 24-hour shift basis. The staff are responsible for all the market shopping, in accordance with the whims of the guests. Attracting artisans and holiday makers since the early 1930′s, Sanur remains the chosen destination for well heeled travellers as well as many expatriate residents and consuls. Long appreciated for its seven kilometre protected white sand beach and laid back ambiance, the village offers every conceivable type of water sport in the safe confines of a protected lagoon shielded from the Indian Ocean’s swells. Unlike other tourist destinations in Bali, village residents have had many years to slowly integrate tourism into their way of life allowing traditional village life to co exist with tourist activities. Holding a special place in Balinese culture, the village of Sanur offers visitors a tantalising glimpse into Bali’s famous culture without straying far from some of Bali’s best loved restaurants and interesting retail outlets.
